What Plans Are Available?

Eligible NVIDIA family members have a variety of benefits open to them to get and stay healthysave money, and have fun—at work and at home.

Core benefits are offered at no cost to you. You pay a premium for optional benefits based on the plan(s) you choose and who you cover. Knowing the difference between core benefits and optional benefits can help you figure out when to sign up for the benefits you wish to have. Here’s the breakdown:

What Should I Enroll In?

Depending on where you live, you have up to several NVIDIA medical plans to choose from. Since your choice will be with you for a full year (or until the next open enrollment period if you’re a newly hired employee)—unless you have a qualified status change, you’ll want to pick the plan that best suits you and your family, medically and financially. To make the most informed decision possible, here’s some food for thought:

Set aside 15–30 minutes to do your research, get up to speed on your options, and see what best fits you and your family.

When Can I Sign Up?

Eligible employees will be automatically enrolled in core benefits. For optional benefits, some rules apply:

  • Newly hired employees have 31 days from the date of hire to enroll, and coverage is retroactive to the date you joined. If you decline or don’t enroll in coverage, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the NVIDIA HDHP medical plan
  • All other employees can sign up or make changes during open enrollment, or if you have a qualified status change (such as a marriage, birth, or divorce)

How Much Will It Cost?

One of the biggest considerations in picking a medical plan is cost. We provide top-notch healthcare at affordable prices for you. There are two costs you need to think about:

  1. What you pay out of your paycheck for medical, dental, and vision coverage. See the costs below or check out this PDF.
  2. What you pay when during the course of the year to meet your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. Compare your options [PDF] carefully so you know what you’ll pay Make sure those numbers fit your household budget and personal savings so you’re prepared if you need to pay a large bill.

2017 Medical Plan Premiums

Your contributions for coverage are deducted from your paycheck each pay period. Because they’re pre-tax, your tax bill is reduced.

Note: If you cover a domestic partner or domestic partner's child who does not qualify as a tax dependent, your contribution for them will be made on an after-tax basis.

How Do I Sign Up For Benefits?

Visit the U.S. Benefits Enrollment Site and log in to enroll in optional benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage, and Flexible Spending Accounts. You have 31 days from your date of hire or a qualified status change (like a marriage, birth, or divorce) to update your benefits. If you don’t enroll in optional benefits, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the NVIDIA HSA medical plan, which might not be right for you. But you won't have dental or vision coverage, and you won’t be able to participate in the Flexible Spending Accounts.

Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in core benefits, including employee life, accident, and disability insurance.

To See Your Costs And Enroll

To see your cost for benefits, make changes, and enroll, log in to the U.S. Benefits Enrollment Site using your Windows login as your username and password.

Be sure to have the following information on hand:

  • A list of the benefits you plan to enroll in so you don’t forget to select coverage for everything you want
  • Your Social Security number
  • The Social Security number, name, and birthdate of anyone you plan to enroll

If You Don’t Sign Up

You’ll be automatically enrolled in the NVIDIA HSA medical plan, which might not be right for you. Don’t let your deadline pass without checking out NVIDIA’s other medical benefits, along with the dental, vision, and Flexible Spending Account options. You’ll have another chance to enroll during open enrollment—held in the fall each year—or if you have a qualified status change during the year.
