What Plans Are Available?

Eligible NVIDIANs and their family members have a variety of benefits to help get and stay healthy, save money, and have fun at work and at home.

Many benefits are offered at no cost to you, although you may pay a premium for some benefits based on the plan(s) you choose and who you choose to cover. Knowing the difference between all offerings can help you make the most out of what you have.

Here’s the breakdown:

* If you take no action, you'll be auto-enrolled after 31 days into the Cigna HSA Plan and after 35 days into the NVIDIA 401(k) plan at a 6% pre-tax contribution rate.

** NVIDIA’s contribution to your HSA will be available the month after you’re hired. You can use your account to pay for qualified medical, dental, and vision expenses incurred on or after your date of hire.

When Can I Sign Up?

Eligible employees will be automatically enrolled in many benefits. For other benefits, some rules apply:

  • Newly hired employees have 31 days from the date of hire to make elections.
  • All other employees can make changes during open enrollment (effective January 1 of the following year) or within 31 days of a qualified status change (such as a marriage, birth, or divorce).
  • Coverage for most plans–including medical, dental and vision–will be retroactive to the date you joined. If you experience a medical emergency prior to enrollment, you can pay medical expenses out of pocket and submit your claims for reimbursement once plan enrollment has been confirmed.
  • If you don’t take any action to waive coverage, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the NVIDIA HSA Plan. You must actively waive medical coverage to receive the medical waiver credit.
  • You’ll need to create your HSA through Fidelity to receive NVIDIA’s HSA contribution.
  • You’ll receive your medical ID card in the mail within 10 business days. There will be no ID cards for Vision and Dental plans.
  • NVIDIA uses an Alternate ID for many benefits so you don’t need to sign up with your SSN.

How Much Will It Cost?

There are two costs to consider:

  1. What you pay out of your paycheck for your elected benefits. See this PDF for medical, dental, and vision plan contributions. You’ll find all other contributions when you make your election on the U.S. Benefits Enrollment Site
  2. What you pay during the course of the year through deductibles, copays, and coinsurance. Make sure to research the plan designs and compare to your expected needs to budget appropriately.

How Do I Sign Up?

Visit the U.S. Benefits Enrollment Site and log in to enroll. You’ll receive 401(k) enrollment information through email on the Wednesday after your date of hire.

If you don’t make an election, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the NVIDIA HSA medical plan and the 401(k) Plan at 6% pre-tax contribution. These may not be right for you, so be sure to make an election. Also, you won't have dental or vision coverage, and you won’t be able to participate in the Flexible Spending Account programs.

Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in employee life, accident, and disability insurance. You have 31 days from your date of hire to update your benefit elections. You may also be able to make changes after a qualified status change (like a marriage, birth, or divorce).

What Medical Plan Is Right for Me?

Depending on where you live, you have up to several NVIDIA medical plans from which to choose. Your choice will be with you for a full year or until the next open enrollment period if you’re a newly hired employee—unless you have a qualified status change. So you’ll want to pick the plan that best suits you and your family medically and financially.

The right medical plan for you depends on:

  • Your future healthcare needs
  • Your risk tolerance
  • Your preferences

Set aside 15–30 minutes to do your research, get up to speed on your options, and see what best fits you and your family.

You can Compare Plan Features And Costs here before you enroll.

View the HSA Contribution Chart [PDF]. New hires will receive a prorated lump sum in the month following your hire date. You must also be an active employee on the day the company contribution is funded.

If you elect to waive medical coverage, you'll receive a $1,200 credit per year evenly distributed per pay period. This will appear as taxable income on your paycheck.

If you have a spouse, domestic partner, or any other eligible family member employed at NVIDIA, you may not cover each other and only one of you may cover your eligible family members. One of you may decline benefits, but no credit will be paid.

You must actively waive medical coverage to receive the medical waiver credit. If you take no action, you’ll be automatically enrolled in the NVIDIA HSA Plan.
